Teacher Incentive Grant - Request for Proposals 2016-2017

MSUNER TEACHER INCENTIVE GRANT - REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS

The Montclair State University Network for Educational Renewal is offering the MSUNER Teacher Incentive Grant for the 2016-2017 school year. The purpose of this grant is to encourage teachers to enhance student learning by experimenting with new teaching strategies, explore ways to improve students' math and  literacy skills, develop a class project, etc. This grant is for a teacher who would like to work on a specific short-term project. All you need is an idea. Here are a few examples to start you thinking:

  • Using Music and Movement to Embed Learning
  • 1/2 an I-Pad Mini in the Math Classroom-Differentiating for all Learners
  • Kindle Fire Reading Center
  • Using Film Study to Enhance Literacy Instruction
  • Wii Academy
  • Fun with Fractions

Projects will be funded in the range of $100 – $200, depending on the project. Funding may only be used for resources. The grant will give you a chance to try out a new initiative. If you think about it, you try out new ideas every year. Why not take this opportunity to receive some funding for your idea?

There will be one submission date for the 2016 – 2017 school year:

Proposals will be accepted now through September 30, 2016, with notification of awards made by October 20, 2016.

All proposals will be reviewed and selection will be based on how strongly the project affects student learning and achievement. Grants will be distributed throughout partner schools in the MSUNER.

Proposal requirements:
1. Active Clinical Faculty status is required.
2. A written narrative report will be due at the completion of the project, but no later than June 1, 2017. The report will include a log of expenditures and receipts.

b. Clearly describe the project. Specifically indicate goal(s)/objective(s) that demonstrate(s) how your idea enhances student learning and achievement.

c. Describe how you intend to use the money by submitting an estimated budget.

If your proposal is accepted, you will be required to complete a W-9 form and submit it to the MSUNER office either by mail or fax (973-655-7776).
